DAVID CRUICKSHANK RESERVE

Public BBQ

Perched along the Swan River's banks, David Cruickshank Reserve offers that quintessentially Australian combination of sport, community, and scenic waterways. The expansive oval hosts Sunday morning footy matches where post-game gatherings become legendary affairs, while families spread across mowed lawns watching cricket or soaking in riverside sunsets. The playground entertains youngsters during family barbecues at well-positioned tables, though weekend visitors should note the pavilion's toilets seem perpetually locked. Dog walkers appreciate the space, provided leads stay on during training sessions. Native trees offer shade between park benches, and the lake attracts birdlife and dragonflies. The Collegians Football Club delivers hearty match-day hospitality.
